Ten Tips for Effective Business Card Design
1. Consider using both sides: Business cards have two sides, so don’t waste half of your marketing tool by leaving the other side completely blank.
2. Use color: No one likes a boring business card and more importantly surveys say they get trashed more often.Leverage color to help your card stand out from the pack.
3. Be consistent in your branding: Every interaction and every promotional piece communicates something about your company. Make sure your business card design supports and builds upon your existing brand identity.
4. Use images: You should strongly consider including a picture of your location, product, or service to give potential clients the visual reminder that text cards do not provide.
5. Grab their attention: Full color custom business cards offer an opportunity to make a short and powerful statement about your company, products, or services.
6. Provide multiple contact points: Some people prefer to call, while others start by researching online. Most have e-mail, and there are still those who use a fax machine, so offer all options.
7. Don't overdo it: It's easy to get carried away and take up every bit of space. But your card should be designed to appeal to people and to draw their attention to particular areas.
8. Offer value: With two-sided cards, you have an opportunity to offer something of value on one side a list of tips, prices, a map/directions, or a coupon.
9. Leave a little space to write on: You can make a big impression by writing your home and/or cell phone numbers on the card when you want to really add a personal touch to an interaction.
10. Outdo your competition: When you get a custom business card designed you are showing potential customers that you are savvy about your marketing efforts...and that’s good business.
