Frequently Asked Questions

Turnaround Time: When can I expect my print to arrive?

Typically in 4-5 business days on most marketing products. Large orders or orders with folding may add a day or two. Note the time is calculated after you have approved your PDF proof.

Turnaround Time: How long is the design process?

The design process will vary depending on what is being designed and how many iterations are required. Designing a business card usually takes 1-2 business days while a brochure usually takes longer, for example. If a logo or branding design is needed the process will likely take a week or longer.

Printing Process: What type of printing process is used?

All products are printed using the four-color or "CMYK" printing process. During this procedure, small dots of Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black are printed on the paper in a precise fashion forming a full spectrum of colors. The end result is high quality full color image card at an affordable price.

Printing Process: What type of coating is used?

We offer free gloss or UV coating on both color sides. Coated on one side or matte finish is also available; however, we recommend coated when printing in full color, particularly if it's an image. The coating enhances the color and improves the quality.

Printing Process: What type of paper is used?

Most products are printed on 14pt UV glossy, coated, or matte stock. Other products such as brochures, flyers, and rack cards have a 100lb gloss text or heavier "gloss cover" option. Letterhead is printed on 70lb bright white paper. If you have a special order please let us know.

Color Matching: What is the difference between the RGB and CMYK and why does it matter?

RGB refers to the primary colors of light: Red, Green, and Blue, that are used in monitors, television screens, digital cameras, and scanners. CMYK refers to the primary colors of pigment: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black. These are the inks used on the press in "4-color process printing", commonly referred to as "full color printing". The combination of RGB light creates white while the combination of CMYK inks creates black. Therefore, it is physically impossible for the printing press to exactly reproduce colors as we see them on our monitors

Color Matching: How well will my job match what I see on my monitor or printer?

Most people are surprised at how well their job matches what they see. However, because of wide differences in monitor calibration, personal preferences, and the different technologies used, some printed colors may not match the colors on a specific monitor or printer.

Color Matching: Can you guarantee a color match?

We cannot always guarantee an exact color match, particularly if we're converting to CMYK from another color format. We generally would like the client to decide what color works for them by selecting the CMYK color values, selecting a color from one of our sample cards, or supplying files that are already in CMYK format.
